Are dogs really welcome?
Really. We charge a flat $150 pet fee per stay, covering up to 2 dogs. More than two? Just message us before booking so we can approve — we usually say yes to good dogs. If approved, additional pets are $75 each.
Any pet rules?
Many of the furnishings and linens are new. We ask that pets remain off the furniture and beds and not be left alone uncrated to prevent damage to the property. Please pick up any waste. The yard is not fenced. To keep pets safe, please keep them leashed.
How many guests can stay?
Up to 10, including children — this is our City of South Haven short-term rental license limit, so it's firm.
Daytime visitors, where approved in writing, are limited to 4 additional people and only between sunrise and sunset. All visitors must depart by 10:00 p.m. Total people on site — registered guests plus visitors — may never exceed 14.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in 4 P.M., check-out 11 A.M. Self check-in via keyless entry; you'll get the code and a short how-to video before arrival.
What's the minimum stay?
It varies by season — from 3 nights in the shoulder months up to 7 nights in peak summer and major holiday weeks. The booking calendar shows exact minimums for your dates.
Where do we park?
Unsalted Tides sleeps 10, but the driveway holds only two vehicles, and there is no overflow parking on the street. A group of ten arriving in four cars will not fit. Please carpool, or plan on paying for public parking downtown for any additional vehicle.
Winter on-street parking ban
The City of South Haven prohibits overnight parking on city streets during the winter months — roughly November 15 through March 15, between approximately 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily. Dates and hours are set by city ordinance and may change. Confirm the current window with the City of South Haven before you arrive if you plan to be here during that season.
Note: no EV charging at the house at this time.
Is it good for two families / multiple generations?
It's built for exactly that: three queen bedrooms upstairs, sleeper sofas on the main floor and lower level, and gathering space inside and out for all 10.
Can we use the fireplace?
The indoor fireplace may be used by guests from October 1st – May 1st. Use outside those dates requires prior approval.
Is smoking allowed?
No smoking of any kind is permitted inside the premises — including vaping and cannabis. Breaking this rule will result in an additional cleaning fee of $500.
Dispose of any smoking materials off the property entirely. Never in mulch, dune grass, or planters.
No illegal substances are allowed on the premises, including physical custody, use, or sale.
Do you provide beach gear?
Assorted beach gear is available in the garage: a beach wagon, boogie boards, beach chairs, sand toys, and a beach umbrella. Beach towels are also available. There are two adult sit-on kayaks and two kid sit-on kayaks, paddles, and assorted paddle vests on-site.

The City of South Haven asks every short-term rental to share its Good Neighbor Guide with guests, and we take it seriously. Please treat this street the way you would want your own street treated.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., seven days a week. Please respect the community and lower the volume of music, TVs, conversations, and other loud noises during these hours, and keep all activity indoors.
